History

In the beginning there existed not but a single entity in the endless darkness; a Flame of omnipotent power. The Flame lived for eons in the darkness until it began to grow lonely. Eventually the sorrow of the Flame built up and built up until the flame cried out. From this was the world born into creation.

Life flowed throughout the new world but none of it could satiate the Flame's sorrow until finally it willed into creation the Gondols. Amongst these Gondols was a special one named after the race and given the title King. From there the Flame told the Gondol King that it would bless any that eased its loneliness.

~The Myth of Creation; King Gondol

~The Zero Age~

The history of the Gondols continues onward from this myth laid out by the King. Under his leadership, the Gondols took to the world and claimed it as their own. They encountered much life and amongst them was a species above the others. This species was raw by all accounts and was easily subdued into slavery. This race was called Humans. Gondols continued to explore and rule uncontested over the world for 11 millennia. Records from this age are scare and much of its history is unknown.

~The First Age~

For 11 thousand years the Gondols ruled over the world but that soon changed as a new race of intelligent beings appeared. These creatures stood around 8 feet tall and were completely blue and had no eyes. They called themselves Allows and they appeared and inhabited the Nii Desert. At first, the Gondols left them alone, but soon these Allows began to attack the Gondol cities and steal goods and supplies from them. Quickly, The Immortal King Gondol's patience ran out and he ordered the removal of the Allows from his land. As hunters and soldiers entered the Nii Desert from Gondolen they soon found themselves outmatched. The Allows were surprisingly quick and were able to defeat the Gondol forces. This set back was met with a larger force entering the Nii desert. This cycle continued until King Gondol himself decided to end this charade.

Gondol lead an army of his best and strongest into the Nii desert and attacked the Allows head on. This battle raged for 2 months with the Gondols making significant headway. Eventually there came a final conflict and King Gondol met for the first time the King of the Allows, Elereth. The Two kings engaged in a battle that lasted 3 moons until finally the Allow King fell to the might of King Gondol. Despite triumphing over his enemy reports from the battle field say King Gondol never once smiled or showed joy from this act.

When King Elereth fell in battle the rest of the Allows threw down their arms and surrendered. King Gondol gave the remaining Allows a choice; move to a harsh desert Island to the south or die. The Allows with no other choice left their homes in the Nii Desert and moved to the Island, renaming it the Great Island of Alloba. Not soon after this King Gondol disappeared from his castle in Gondolji and has never been seen since. This escape left a crucial gap in power that resulted in a conflict amongst the nobles to decide rulership.

Ten centuries would pass and a new problem would arise for the Gondols. For the eras the Humans served as slaves for the Gondols. However, for when they were once stupid and uncivilized creatures ten thousand years ago, now they have grown into a smart and aspiring race. The Human slaves were now asking for more then the life of a slave and eventually this unrest came to a head. The Humans began to organized and openly oppose their Gondol masters. The Gondols, hoping to quell the Humans, offered them the northern part of the Western Continent. However the Humans saw the offer for what it was and decided to attack that fear. The Humans then began a war on the Gondols.

The War raged evenly between the two forces until the Humans gained an unlikely ally, the Allows. Seeing this as an opportunity to strike back at the Gondols, the Allows struck up an alliance with the Humans and together they waged war on the Gondols. The Humans numbers and the Allows power quickly overwhelmed the Gondols and the two races defeated the mighty Gondols; the race that once ruled the world was now pushed into a small part of it. The Humans and the Allows split the newly acquired land amongst themselves with the Humans taking the entire Western Continent and the Allows taking the Lesser Islands of Alloba and reclaiming the Nii Desert. This battle became known as The Great War.

~The Second Age~

Four centuries later two new races emerge in the world; a large barbarous race known as the Adaz and the average sized Fremm lead by their Kings, Mazlis and Hirion. Both of these races immediately claimed lands on the Western Continent; the Adaz the Mountains of Berk and the Fremm the southern most portions of the continent. This act immediately caught the notice of the Humans and they took action. The Humans declared that the strange races remove themselves from their land. This encounter ended in disaster as the Adaz immediately and recklessly went to war with the Humans. Their superhuman strength quickly overwhelmed the Human forces and proved to be more then a match for them. The Fremm on the other hand fought in a less direct way. Using their unique powers they would shapeshift and combat the humans in a more subdued way.

The War between the Adaz and the Humans waged for years until the Humans began to outthink the simple combat strategies of the Adaz. Soon, the Adaz were on the ropes and were being defeated in battle after battle. Around this time the Fremm King Hirion met with the Adaz King Mazlis and the two men who had been blessed by the Flame forged an alliance. Like the Humans and the Allows did centuries before, the Adaz and the Fremm formed a united front to face a larger enemy. With the cunning and strategy of the Fremm directing the power of the Adaz they soon defeated the Humans; ironically forcing them into the northern half of the Western Continent called Endalia, the same place the Gondols offered to them ages ago. With the Humans defeated the Fremm then claimed half of the Western Continent for themselves while the Adaz chose to simply remain in their mountains. This conflict became known as The Second Great Battle. Not long after King Mazlis and King Hirion both died within a year of each other. A long period of mourning was held in both nations.

Though defeated the Humans and the Adaz would continue to have many small border skirmishes between each other and continue to this day to be off-and-on enemies. The Fremm and the Human on the other hand would end up forging a working trade relationship.

~The Third Age~

Two centuries later a new, and as of this writing, the last race emerged named the Arelan. The Arelan were very human like except their woman possessed magnificent wings. They possessed the power to manipulate the elements and with this power their Queen, Edur Eztoz, forged great nations from the tundra of the Haukea Islands into a paradise and adopted the title Holy Mother. Their cities are considered to be the most peaceful and beautiful in the world with stone towers spiraling towards the heavens. Reports say that Holy Mother Eztoz chose those lands to avoid the conflicts caused by the Adaz, Allows, and Fremm's coming.

To further this idea of peace Holy Mother Eztoz gave gifts of gold and other valuables to the world leaders to show her good will. During her short life time Edur Eztoz developed good will with all nations except for the Adaz, who shunned her like they did all outsiders. Unfortunately, Edur would only live 4 short years after arriving in the world and Arelenian scholars say that it was the great task of building her nation that caused this. The city of Lumi would build a colossal monument in her honor.

History would once again stay quiet for four centuries until Human expeditionist discovered a new race of beings living beyond the once thought impassable mountains on an Island northwest of Endalia. This new race was entirely alien to the Humans and spoke an incomprehensible language but a couple of days later the new race learned the Human tongue and introduced themselves as the Eidolons. The Eidolons corrected the Humans assumption and proved to them that they've been in existence for as long as the Gondols. The studying of this new, yet old, race is still continuing.

A few weeks later, in an act of Good will, The Humans opened up a port city simply named The Island. The Island was built solely so different races, any races, could come and trade goods with no fear of prejudice. This act has become a huge success for the Humans and has improved their good will among all races except the Adaz.
